Visit the Harvard Art Museums (Arthur M. Sackler Museum, Fogg Art Museum and Busch-Reisinger Museum) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Museum. Bus departs from Pomperaug Woods in Southbury at 8 a.m. and from the Mattatuck Museum at 8:30 a.m.

Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs

Join us for a day at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA)for a guided tour of the exhibition, Matisse: Cut-Outs. After our guided tour we will enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant. After lunch explore other exhibitions and the popular MOMA store. Fee includes charter bus transportation, museum admission, lunch, and all gratuities. Space is limited.

7th Annual CT Senior Juried Art Show
September 27-28 at Pomperaug Woods
The Connecticut Senior Juried Art Show at Pomperaug Woods, Southbury’s only not-for-profit retirement community, invited the public to view the work of talented Connecticut artists – all of whom are 70+ years of age – at the seventh annual Connecticut Senior Juried Art Show on September 27 & 28. The show, themed “The Art of Experience” will include paintings, drawings, sculptures and photography – all created after the artists’ 70th birthday.

Pomperaug Woods 10th Annual Outdoor Concert Series

Doors open at 5:30 pm. Concerts start at 6:30 pm at the Gazebo behind Pomperaug Woods.
August 12th – Pierce Campbell Jazz Band
August 19th – Elm City Banjo – 15 piece Banjo Band
August 26th- Heartland Dixieland Jazz Band
Bring your own chair or blanket. We will be serving hot dogs, chips and soda.
Pomperaug Woods will be accepting monetary donations with 100% of donations going to the Southbury Food Bank.

Pomperaug Woods Retirement Community Kicks off 25th Anniversary
SOUTHBURY, Connecticut – Pomperaug Woods, Southbury’s only not-for-profit community recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a cocktail party for residents and guests. During that event, Pomperaug Woods was recognized and was presented with an official citation by the State of Connecticut. State Representative Arthur O’Neill was on hand to present the citation to Executive Director Kevin Moshier and Board President Bill Neil. Pomperaug Woods has been the confident choice for seniors over the past 25 years and looks forward to continuing to serve the Southbury community. Joining seniors around the country for an amazing celebration.
On May 29th, Pomperaug Woods hosted one of an estimated 1,000 events around the country marking the 20th Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day®. As an official host site, our community sponsored a balance and fall prevention event called “Grace on the Floor®.”
“We had an amazing turnout, with more than 25 residents and guests participating in the event,” said Emily Guay, Pomperaug Woods Wellness Coordinator.
The participants at Pomperaug Woods joined an estimated 100,000 seniors across the country taking part in activities on National Senior Health & Fitness Day—the nation’s largest annual health promotion event for older adults. The national event is coordinated by the Mature Market Resource Center.
