THERE’S ALWAYS SOMETHING HAPPENING AT POMPERAUG WOODS.
Oscar Hammerstein III
On Thursday, April 7, Pomperaug Woods will be hosting Oscar Hammerstein III, who is an author, lecturer and family historian. He has devoted much of his life to studying and preserving his family’s heritage and contribution to American culture.
His presentation, “The Hammersteins: A Musical Theatre Family,” covers the century-long story of one of Broadway’s most creative and productive families. It begins with Oscar Hammerstein, who became a successful cigar and real estate mogul to fund his theatre-building ambitions. “The Hammersteins” is at once a deeply personal story of an American family living the American dream and a celebration of musical theatre in this country.
This event is by invitation only.
