💜 A Caregiver’s Journey: Jeanine Greaves spent her life caring for others.
“My dad was a traveling salesman,” shared her daughter, Jennifer O’Brien. “So, my mom took care of four kids and the house on her own all week until Dad came home on the weekends. As we got older, she ...started her own consulting business as a dietitian, caring for hundreds of seniors at four different nursing homes. For 25 years, caregiving was her life.
When Mom began to decline, I became her caregiver. You don’t realize how all-consuming caregiving is until you live it yourself.”
In 2021, Jennifer found Pomperaug Woods, and her mother, Jeanine, moved into our Memory Care neighborhood.
“I couldn’t have found a better place for her,” said Jennifer. “Her care is still my responsibility, but now I have a village—and that makes all the difference.” 💜

Last Friday, our community gathered for one of our favorite events – the Annual Chili Cook-Off! From classic recipes to creative new twists, every pot of chili brought the heat and flavor.
